The loner
The loner
The Loner is very shy, introverted and timid boy. He does not have the courage and is too shy to ask the children but expects them to extend an invitation to come and play. He “leans against the playground wall” as though it is his emotional support. Also, I think that he maybe envious of the children that are playing. He “smacks his hands the bricks” and does other “boredom beating tricks”. He does this for so long that he is oblivious to the pain. He goes to the playground every single day but “never plays”. So, I conclude that he is a recluse.
The childrenThe children are very mean and quite selfish. They always stick to their “familiar cliques” and whenever they pass him in their “slow huddled groups” they whisper to each other, not wishing for “The loner” to hear them. Also in the poem there is a line that says that “neither he nor we will yield”. This shows that the children are very selfish. They can approach the boy and ask him to play as the boy maybe shy to ask them. Thus, I conclude that the children are malicious and egotistic.

The Dark Knight

Do you sympathize with The Joker?
No, I do not sympathize with the joker. He is cruel and psychotic. He robs a bank with his accomplices, whom he tricks into killing one another, ultimately killing the last one himself. He does not care about anyone but himself. He does not care about anything except for money and power. He is greedy and cunning. He is monstrous and the crimes he commit are whimsical and inhumanly brutal. He kills people and still carries on life without guilt. He instills fear in people to achieve what he wants. He is a sadist. Just because his life was miserable does not mean he has to make others suffer alongside him. Such revolting creature does not deserve my sympathy at all. What have you learnt from this lesson?
I have learnt that people have many sides to them. Batman, for example, has both good and evil in him. Also, first impressions have a huge impact on people. Your appearance, speech, body language and such speak a lot about you. The Joker looks like the madman that he is. Whereas Batman looks like a true hero.
